Lydiard Field of Remembrance

Some of our School Council and KS2 children attended the Service of

Remembrance at Lydiard Park last Friday.

“We had to write a thoughtful note on wooden crosses

which we then placed in our allocated spot in the garden of

remembrance. We listened to the bands before the 2

minutes of silence. Unfortunately we got a bit wet as it was

raining! We were also interviewed by some older children

from Wootton Bassett Academy. It was a sad day for

some families of servicemen and women.”

Max and An-Mei—Year 6

Essential Cycling Skills

We are pleased to offer this opportunity again to our Years 3, 4 and 5 children. We

will run a couple of course in January 2014. These will be all day courses which take

place on the school playground during the school day.

The course content includes bike safety check, helmet fitting and adjustment,

getting on the bike, starting and stopping, riding along safely, emergency stops, rid-

ing in a group and signalling and one handed riding. The courses will be run by Paul Freeguard who is a

qualified National Standard Cycling Instructor.

The cost of the course is £10.00. A letter will be sent home with your child and if you would like them

to take part, please complete and return the slip with payment.

Early Drop Off

If you’d like your child to have breakfast for only 50p a day, please fill in the booking form

for December ,now available from School Reception and return to the office with pay-

ment. If your child is eligible for free school meals, you will also need to complete a form;

however, no payment is due.

We ask where possible that you book your child in a month in advance; however, if you do have a

situation where you need to make an additional early drop off booking, we do need 48 hours notice.

Thank you.

in a draw. Well done to the team: Iwan Floyd, Pheboe Doe, Lewis Footner, Thea Hopkins, Letisha

Taperek, Lilyella Bennett, and Cerys Baker. Max Hopkins and Ben Huish also joined in playing in the

friendly match.
