December 15-20, 2015 This heartfelt holiday concert celebrates the music of John Denver and the Rocky Mountains with John’s own photos as a backdrop. Featuring

modern and traditional Christmas carols as well as some of John Denver’s most memorable hits, you’ll hear songs such as “Christmas for Cowboys,”

“Aspenglow,” “Thank God I’m a Country Boy,” and “Back Home Again.” The cast and band are led onstage by Tony-nominee Dan Wheetman, a world-class picker ‘n fiddler and former member of the John Denver band. Other

Modifications will be made to these performances to make the shows more accessible to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. These

changes include lowering the volume of the performance, dimming the audience lights just halfway, allowing individuals to leave and return to their seat throughout

the performance, and encouraging patrons to wave their hands rather than applaud. Removing startling noises and keeping the audience visible will help make the shows more comfortable and enjoyable for all. The welcoming and

relaxed atmosphere created by an audience full of peers also removes the fear that someone won’t understand a disruption.

Artistry in RhythmFriday, May 6

The Lone Tree Symphony features a special evening of art and music in this program featuring the multiple talents of Bill Hill, principal timpanist with the Colorado Symphony and teacher at DU’s Lamont School of Music. An acclaimed composer, soloist, fine artist, and conductor, Mr. Hill will perform his own compositions combined with original artwork in an evening that promises to be magical. Following the same theme, selections from Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” will also be featured.
