The LED based Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme is currently running in over 120 cities across India. This Programme is named as Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) by Union Minister of State for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal. The National LED programme was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 2015 with a target of replacing 77 crore incandescent lamps with LED bulbs. This scheme has been implemented by Energy Efficiency Services Limited.

It is an initiative to advance bilateral cooperation on climate change. The fellowship will enable will enable up to 6 Indian PhD students and post-doctoral researchers to work with US host institutions for a period of 6-12 months. The fellowship, named after the late Indian President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. The fellowship will be operated by the binational US-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) under the Fulbright programme.

The Arab League has declared Lebanese movement Hezbollah a "terrorist" group, the move comes after the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) had adopted the same stance. Decision regarding this was taken by Arab League foreign ministers during meeting at the organisation’s seat in Egypt’s capital Cairo. Nearly all 22 Arab League members supported the decision, except Lebanon and Iraq which expressed reservations.
