ITINERARY

DAY 1Arrival at the airport of Palermo Punta Raisi. Transfer to Erice area. Accommodation in hotel 4*. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 2Breakfast in hotel. Departure for a visit of Erice - beautiful town that preserves more than sixty churches and monasteries in its medieval center. Tasting of typical Sicilian patisserie, prepaired by nuns in convents, whose recipes are still a secret known to few. The delicious pastry will be accompanied by typical liqueurs. Departure for San Vito Lo Capo and trekking experience in the Natural Zingaro Reserve (with departure from San Vito Lo Capo and arrival to Scopello).

DAY 3Breakfast in hotel. Departure for Marsala – city famous for the landing of Garibaldi and the Thousand on 11 May 1860 and for the production of Marsala wine, for which since 1987 is called “Wine City”. Visit of the town and the Museum of the Punic Ship. The wreck, found a few meters below sea level, is an important testimony of the First Punic War, fought by the Romans against the Carthaginians for the conquest of Sicily. Visit a winery with wine tasting. Lunch at typical shop in the historical center of Marsala with unique and sophisticated products from the traditional Sicilian cuisine. Sightseeing excursion in Mothia Island and Saline. These small islands shake to form a lagoon of rare beauty: the Nature Reserve Stagnone Islands characterized by shallow water very salty that favored the conditions for saltworks that today extends from Trapani to Marsala. Visit the salt pain with “salt tasting”. Back to the hotel in Erice area. Dinner. Overnight.

DAY 4Breakfast in hotel. Departure for Mazara del Vallo - place of great prestige in Roman times, that has been completely changed during Arabian dominance: historic center, called Casbah, looks like a tangle of narrow streets that recall the Islamic medinas. Visit the town and the Dancing Satyr Museum with bronze statue of Greek origin. Transfer to Castelvetrano. Visit of the one of Sicily's great Greek archaeological sites - Selinunte. Departure for Sambuca di Sicilia. Accommodation in historical house. Welcome typical dinner in historical house dating back to the Norman and Arabic times and used in the past as a defense against pirate raids from the sea. Overnight.

DAY 5Breakfast in hotel. Sightseeing excursion in the borgo of Sambuca di Sicilia, testimony of

Arab culture. Visit a dairy farm in ancient manor farm with show and explanation of the production of the famous cheese “Vastedda del Belice”. After the visit, buffet lunch tasting in farm house. Transfer to Cefalù area. Accommodation in hotel 4*. Dinner. Overnight.

DAY 6Breakfast in hotel. Departure for Gangi - the town, rich in monuments of great value: Castle built in the first half of the fourteenth century, Sgadari Palace, Palazzo Bongiorno, the Mother Church dedicated to St. Nicholas of Bari, the Parish of the Blessed Salvatore and the Benedictine abbey. Cooking class with lunch in historical house owned by barons and marquis in the center of Gangi. During the spring and summer lunch will be enjoyed in the beautiful terrace. Transfer to Petralia Soprana and visit of the borgo. Departure for Geraci Siculo and visit of the town, including the ruins of the Manor of Ventimiglia. Back to the hotel in Cefalù area. Dinner. Overnight.

DAY 7Breakfast in hotel. Departure for Palermo for a full day sightseeing excursion. Palermo is known for its millennian history, culture, architecture and gastronomy. Visit the Cathedral, the Palatine Chapel, the Church of Martorana, Piazza Pretoria, Quattro Canti Square, the Market. Accommodation in hotel 4* in Palermo area. Dinner. Overnight.

DAY 8Breakfast in hotel. Departure for the airport of P alermo Punta Raisi. End of services.
