BEER CHEESE BREAD BOWLIngredients• 1 round loaf (1 lb.) pumpernickel bread• 2 jars (10 oz.) sharp American cheese spread• 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened• 1/4 cup beer (or nonalcoholic beer)• 1/2 cup real bacon bitsDirections:• Cut top quarter off loaf of bread and hollow out bottom to create a “bowl.” Cut removed bread into cubes and set aside.

SPINACH DIPIngredients• 1 cup cottage cheese• 1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen chopped spinach thawed and squeezed dry• 1 cup sour cream• 2 tbsp. milk• 1 tbsp. parmesan cheese• 1 tbsp. ranch dressing• A pinch of dill weed and garlic powder

Directions:• In a food processor, cover and process cottage cheese until smooth. Transfer to a small bowl. • Stir in the spinach, sour cream, milk, parmesan cheese, ranch dressing, dill and garlic powder.• Cover and refrigerate for 3-4 hours. Serve with vegetables.

• In a microwave-safe dish, combine cheese spread and cream cheese. Microwave for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Stir in beer. Microwave, uncovered, 20 seconds longer. Stir in bacon.• Fill bread bowl with cheese dip. Serve with reserved bread cubes.

Grover L. Priess Primary School February 10th through February 13th.

Registration is from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on February 10th & 11th and from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on February 12th & 13th by appointment. Registration will take approximately 45 minutes.

All Pre-Kindergarten students must be registered prior to the open registration cutoff date of March 28, 2014. If more students register than spots are available, a lottery may be necessary.

EDEN STAMPEDE 4-H CLUB PARTICIPATES IN HORSEBOWL

On Saturday January 18th The Eden Stampede 4-H club participated in Erie County Horsebowl at East Aurora High School. To compete members are put on teams of 4 and askedhorsequestionsofvaryingdifficultywhiletheyusebuzzers to buzz in with the answer. We studied together as a club and practiced at home. Some questions were really hard, but we didn’t give up! We had 8 cloverbud members participate plus 7 regular members for a total of 15. Our club sent 4 novice teams and 1 senior member. In the novice division we placed 3rd, 6th, 8th, and 10th. The senior team placed 2nd. Individually, Carla Lamm placed 6thfornovice,AllisonGrunderplaced9thfornovice,andDiana Henry placed 4th for the senior division. We all got ribbons. It was fun. We are excited to do it again next year!!
