Recording Fee

St. Louis County Recorder’s Department

• 1989-MN Statute 383C.725 raised the St. Louis County recording fee to $15.00

• $5.00 per doc./Equipment Fund

• 1991-Recording fee raised to $15.00 statewide

• 1992-State added a $2.00 surcharge $1.60/state & .40 retained by counties

• 2004 MCRA passed resolution & developed strategy to increase the fee

• Kay Wrucke, Martin County Rec. • 8/2005 “County Fees and Recording Standards for Recording of Real Estate Documents” passed into law
