THIS WEEK AT ELMHURST CRC Today we have a single service at 10:00 am to ring in the New Year. This service will be family friendly and include several elements designed specifically for our children. Children's Ministries will be available for ages 3-5. Rev. Benj Petroelje is our guest preacher for the day.

NEXT WEEK AT ELMHURST CRC The book of Ruth is all about God's loving kindness, or in the original Hebrew, his "Hesed." God uses people to be his ambassadors of "hesed" to their families, to outsiders, and to the nations. The book of Ruth is a story of human tragedy on many levels and how God works through the tragic to bring healing and redemption to the world. We will spend five weeks digging deep into this amazing story. Consider taking 15 minutes to read the entire book of Ruth in preparation for this worship service.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY Congratulations to Kathryn & Peter Vanderveld on the birth of their son, Weston Paul, on December 22. Congratulations to Amy & Nathan Diepstra on the birth of their son, Zac Andrew, on December 26. We extend our sympathy to Jim & Lauri Venema and family, as they mourn the loss of Lauri’s father, Andrew Bosman, on December 20. Prayer Requests: Please pray for healing and strength for Lois Arthur, Doris Baur, Henrietta Hall, Bill Poe, Maria Ramos, Gloria Van Ryn, and Marilyn Ward. Join us in praying for each other. To send your prayer requests or praises to be included in the email prayer chain, or to receive a daily email of these requests, email [email protected] or call the church office at 630-600-5100. If you would like your prayer request included in the weekly announcements in the worship folder please email Lisa Capozzoli, Director of Care and Community, [email protected].
