GRAMMAR
Past simple
P. ej.: to work + -ed worked
I worked yo trabajé, yo trabajaba
You worked tú trabajaste, tú trabajabas, usted trabajó, usted trabajaba(ustedes, vosotros)...
He worked él trabajó, él trabajaba
She worked ella trabajó, ella trabajaba
It worked ello (cosa, animal) trabajó, trabajaba
We worked nosotros trabajamos, nosotros trabajábamos
SUJETO + DID + NOT + VERBO EN INFINITIVO
P. ej.: I did not / didn’t work.
Buying the perfect motor home / Vehicles / The car doesn't work

Yo no trabajaba o trabajé.
DID + SUJETO + VERBO EN INFINITIVO ?
P. ej.: Did you work?¿Trabajabas o trabajaste tú?
Afirmativo:
I wanted yo quise, yo quería
You wanted tú quisiste, tú querías, usted quiso, usted quería (ustedes, vosotros)
He wanted él quiso, él quería
She wanted ella quiso, ella quería
It wanted ello (cosa, animal) quiso, quería
We wanted nosotros quisimos, nosotros queríamos
They wanted ellos / ellas quisieron, ellos / ellas querían
Negativo:
I did not want yo no quise, yo no quería
You did not want tú no quisiste, tú no querías, usted no quiso, usted noquería (ustedes, vosotros no)
He did not want él no quiso, él no quería

It did not want ello (cosa, animal) no quiso, no quería
We did not want nosotros no quisimos, nosotros no queríamos
They did not want ellos / ellas no quisieron, ellos / ellas no querían

Did it want? ¿quiso ello (cosa, animal)?, ¿quería ello (cosa, animal)?
Did we want? ¿quisimos nosotros?, ¿queríamos nosotros?
Did they want? ¿quisieron ellos / ellas?, ¿querían ellos / ellas?
Short answers
P. ej.: Did you go to the party?
Yes, I did. No, I didn’t.

Did she see?¿Vió / Veía ella?
Present continuous
Sujeto + verbo to be + verbo + ing
P.ej.: I am reading.Yo estoy leyendo.She is swimming.

• Situaciones temporales
to look: look + -ing = looking
to have: hav- + -ing = having
to stop: stopp- + -ing = stopping
to run: runn- + -ing = running
to swim: swimm- + -ing = swimming
Afirmativo:
I am eating yo estoy comiendo
you are eating tú estás comiendo, usted está comiendo, ustedes estáncomiendo, vosotros estáis comiendo
he is eating él está comiendo
she is eating ella está comiendo
it is eating ello (cosa / animal) está comiendo

To be going to
TO BE + GOING + TO + INFINITIVO
La forma going to nunca cambia y sólo tenemos que conjugar el verbo “to be”, tanto para lasafirmativas como para las negativas e interrogativas.
En español se traduce por ir a.
I am going to go home.Voy a irme a casa. (Tengo la intención de irme a casa.)
I am going to eat dinner.
She is not going to work.Ella no va a trabajar. (No tiene la intención de trabajar.)
We are not going to come.Nosotros no vamos a venir. (No tenemos la intención de venir.)
Are you going to study?¿Vas tú a estudiar? (¿Tienes la intención de estudiar?)
Is he going to read?¿Va él a leer?
P. ej.: Are you going to see the movie?
Yes, I am. No, I am not.

Present simple: affirmative form
To eat (comer):
I eat yo como
you eat tú comes, Ud. come, Uds. comen, vosotros comeis
he eats él come
she eats ella come
it eats ello (cosa / animal) come
we eat nosotros comemos
they eat ellos, ellas comen
to make he makesto read he readsto eat he eats
Los verbos acabados en -s, -x, -sh, -ch, o en -o añaden -es en lugar de -s.
to watch he watches
to go he goes
to mix he mixes
to do he does
P. ej.: to play he plays
P. ej.: to study he studies

Present simple: negative form
SUJETO + DO / DOES + NOT + VERBO
I do not eat yo no como
You do not eat tú no comes, Ud. no come, vosotros no coméis, Uds. no comen
He does not eat él no come
She does not eat ella no come
It does not eat ello no come (animal o cosa)
We do not eat nosotros no comemos
They do not eat ellos / ellas no comen
I don’t eat yo no como
You don’t eat tú no comes, Ud. no come, vosotros no coméis, Uds. no comen
He doesn’t eat él no come
She doesn’t eat ella no come
It doesn’t eat ello no come (animal o cosa)
We don’t eat nosotros no comemos
They don’t eat ellos / ellas no comen

Present simple: questions
Igual que para el verbo “to be” invertíamos el orden de sujeto más verbo por verbo mássujeto, con el presente simple ocurre lo mismo pero utilizando la partícula “ do / does”. Elverbo principal queda, de este modo, inamovible. La estructura fija a seguir sería:
DO / DOES + SUJETO + VERBO ?
Do I eat? ¿como yo?
Do you eat? ¿comes tú, come Ud., coméis vosotros, comen Uds.?
Does he eat? ¿come él?
Does she eat? ¿come ella?
Does it eat? ¿come ello (animal o cosa)?
Do we eat? ¿comemos nosotros?
Do they eat? ¿comen ellos / ellas?
Short answers
Do you like cats?
Yes, I do. No, I don’t.
Does she speak English?
Yes, she does. No, she doesn’t.
