Eurostat is in the same building as a large shopping centre, containing a supermarket ( Auchan , pronounciation "O -shan") and a number of smaller shops. Free parking is available in the shopping centre underground car-park. The Eurostat offices can also be entered from within the shopping gallery, using the entrance on the ground floor by the glass-sided lift (between the Zen Restaurant Chinois and the L’Autre Traiteur). 2. HOW TO GET TO THE BECH BUILDING BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT 2.1. From the airport There is a shuttle bus from the airport to the centre of Luxembourg (see attached schedule and map). Some of these buses stop near the Bech building; it is advisable to check with the driver. The municipal bus service, direction Gare Centrale, runs from the airport to the centre of Luxembourg (stop Hamilius). Change there to a bus No. 18, direction Kirchberg/ Foire, which will take you to the Bech building (stop Alphonse Weicker). The trip from the airport to town takes about 20 minutes, and from town to the Bech building about 15 minutes. Tickets are sold on the bus. The fare is a flat rate of 1.10 Euro and one ticket is valid for both parts of the journey (if within 1 hour). 2.2. From the railway station Take bus No. 18, direction Kirchberg/Foire, which will take you to the Bech building (stop Alphonse Weicker). HOW TO GET TO MEETINGS IN EUROSTAT

1. THE BECH BUILDING

The full address of the Bech Building is:

Kirchberg is about half-way between the airport and the centre of Luxembourg. Eurostat is in the same building as a large shopping centre, containing a supermarket (Auchan, pronounciation "O-shan") and a number of smaller shops. 2.3. From Luxembourg centre

3. HOW TO FIND A MEETING ROOM

3.1. Large meeting rooms – Ampère and Quetelet

Take the lift to the 3rd floor, and follow the signs, crossing the bridge across the shopping gallery.

3.2. Other meeting rooms

Other meeting rooms are numbered – for example, Room A4/45 is in wing A on the 4th floor, room number 45. There are signs in the corridors showing the directions to the wings and the room numbers.

4. FACILITIES AT THE BECH BUILDING

4.1. Restaurants

There is a Eurostat canteen on the 2nd floor just below the large meeting rooms. It offers a choice of hot and cold meals and snacks, at a good price. Alternatively, there are several restaurants in the shopping gallery, which can be reached from the entrance hall of the Bech building. The coffee bar is by the entrance to the canteen.

4.2. Bank and Post Office

There is a bank (Banque et Caisse d’Epargne de l’Etat) in the shopping gallery. The is no staffed Post Office in the Bech building, but on the ground floor of the shopping gallery there is an ‘automatic post office’, with telephones, machines to weigh packages and sell stamps, and a post box.

4.3. Shopping

Eurostat is in the same building as a large shopping centre, containing an Auchan supermarket and a number of smaller shops. These can be reached from the entrance hall of the Bech building.

5. ACCOMMODATION

For convenience, if using public transport to get to the meeting, it is advisable to stay in a hotel in Luxembourg city.
