– Between March and June 2007, more than 100 reservoirs, 70 hand pumps, 1000 wells, 100 irrigation canals, and 650 km of roads have been constructed or rehabilitated.
– Kandahar Local Initiatives Program for delivering small-scale, quick action projects
• Humanitarian Assistance
– In Kandahar: more than 200,000 people have received emergency food aid

– More than 17,500 Community Development Councils elected (more than 520 in Kandahar alone)
– $10-million under the National Solidarity Program for local governance and community development in Kandahar
• Education
– 20,800 men and women receiving legal awareness training within households
– More than 5100 Kandahari women receiving literacy training

– Access to basic medical services has increased to 83%
– Infant mortality has declined 22%
• Economic Development
– Between January and May 2007, 60,000 new clients in microfinance activities
– In Kandahar, more than 420,000 m2 of land cleared of mines, benefiting more than 10,000 people (since March 2005).
– Between April and June 2007, over 5,000 mines destroyed nationwide
