2017 Official Nomination Form

The Excellence in Club Management® Awards, sponsored by McMahon Group and Club & Resort Business magazine are annual awards that recognizes private club general managers, managers and chief operating officers who have exhibited outstanding skills in managing their clubs. An award winner will be selected for each of the following categories:

The James H. Brewer Award (country/golf club with 600 or more full privilege members)

The Mead Grady Award (country/golf club with under 600 full privilege members) The Mel Rex Award (city, athletic, specialty [non-golf] clubs of all types)

To be eligible for a 2017 Excellence in Club Management® Award, a manager must be nominated by another party. Each nomination must include this completed Official Nomination Form and a Letter of Endorsement from the president, a past president or current board member of the club that employs the nominee. Submitted information is limited to this 10-page form and the president’s or board member’s letter of support. The last page of this Official Nomination Form is available for additional information on any subject pertaining to the nomination.

Each candidate must be a member of the Club Managers Association of America, the National Club Association, the Canadian Society of Club Managers or any international association of club managers. Award recipients will be selected based solely on their achievements at the club they currently manage. Lifetime achievements in the club industry are not an Award consideration.

All nominees will be notified in writing of their nomination for the Award. Winners will be determined by the 2017 Selection Committee. McMahon Group and Club & Resort Business magazine are not involved in the judging and selection of the winners. The deadline for nominations is November 3, 2017. A representative from McMahon Group and Club & Resort Business magazine will travel to each recipient’s club to present the Award. At the 2018 CMAA World Conference in Orlando, a special reception/dinner will be held in their honor.
