Passion Sunday (Fifth Sunday in Lent)

1030am 7 April 2019 AD All Age Worship

Your father Abrahamrejoicedthat he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.

So the Jews said, You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?

Jesus said,Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was,I am.

Sothey picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself...

John 8:56-59

Passion Sunday (Fifth Sunday in Lent)

Opening Words.

God in Christ has revealed his glory

Come let us worship

From the rising of the sun to its setting

The Lords name is greatly to be praised.

Give him praise, you servants of the Lord

O praise the name of the Lord.

Childrens song: Seek ye first the Kingdom of God

Seek ye first the kingdom of God

And His righteousness

And all these things

Shall be added unto you

Allelu alleluia

Man shall not live by bread alone

But by ev'ry word

That proceeds

From the mouth of God

Allelu alleluia

Ask and it shall be given unto you

Seek and ye shall find

Knock and the door

Shall be opened unto you

Allelu alleluia

We kneel to pray

AllAlmighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known,

and from whom no secrets are hidden:

cleanse the thoughts of our hearts

by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,

that we may perfectly love you,

and worthily magnify your holy name;

through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Ten Commandments

The response to the first 9 commandments is:

All Lord, have mercy upon us, and incline our hearts to keep this law.

10th:You shall not covet your neighbours house, you shall not covet your neighbours wife, or slaves, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour.

All Lord, have mercy upon us, and write all these your laws in our hearts.

There will be music in the background as we reflect on our need for the Lords mercy in our lives.

Prayer after Communion:

[a moment of silence]

All Father of all,

we give you thanks and praise,

that when we were still far off

you met us in your Son and brought us home.

Dying and living, he declared your love,

gave us grace, and opened the gate of glory.

May we who share Christs body live his risen life;

we who drink his cup bring life to others;

we whom the Spirit lights give light to the world.

Keep us firm in the hope you have set before us,

so we and all your children shall be free,

and the whole earth live to praise your name;

through Christ our Lord.

Final Blessing:

Priest The peace of God, which passes all understanding,

keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God,

and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord;

and the blessing of God almighty,

the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,

be among you and remain with you always.

All Amen.

Notices After the notices we stand to sing the final song

Final Song: Ancient of days

Blessing and honor glory and power

Be unto the Ancient of Days

From ev'ry nation all of creation

Bow before the Ancient of Days

Ev'ry tongue in heaven and earth

Shall declare Your glory

Ev'ry knee shall bow at Your throne

In worship

You will be exalted O God

And Your kingdom shall not pass away

O Ancient of Days

Your kingdom shall reign over all the earth

Sing unto the Ancient of Days

For none can compare to Your matchless worth

Sing unto the Ancient of Days

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord

All in the Name of Christ. Amen.

Christ is enough for me

Christ is my reward and all of my devotion

Now there's nothing in this world

That could ever satisfy

Through every trial my soul will sing

No turning back I've been set free

Christ is enough for me

Christ is enough for me

Everything I need is in You

Everything I need

Christ my all in all the joy of my salvation

And this hope will never fail

Heaven is our home

Through every storm my soul will sing

Jesus is here to God be the glory

I have decided to follow Jesus

No turning back no turning back

The cross before me the world behind me

No turning back no turning back

Post Communion Song: How great Thou art

O Lord my God

when I in awesome wonder

Consider all

the works Thy hand hath made

I see the stars

I hear the mighty thunder

Thy pow'r throughout

the universe displayed

Then sings my soul

my Saviour God to Thee

How great Thou art

how great Thou art

Then sings my soul

my Saviour God to Thee

How great Thou art

how great Thou art

When through the woods

and forest glades I wander

And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees

When I look down

from lofty mountain grandeur

And hear the brook

and feel the gentle breeze

And when I think that God

His Son not sparing

Sent Him to die I scarce can take it in

That on the Cross

my burden gladly bearing

He bled and died to take away my sin

When Christ shall come
