10 th Sunday in Ordinary Time From Father Jim “Jesus came home with his disciples… His mother and his brothers arrived. Standing outside they sent word to Him and called Him. A crowd seated around Him told Him, ‘Your mother and your brothers and your sisters are outside asking for you.’ But He said to them in reply, ‘Who are My mother and my brothers?’ And looking around at those seated in the circle he said, ‘Here are My mother and My brothers. For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and My mother.” What a wonderful description of the great homecoming. 10th Sunday in Ordinary Time

From Father Jim“Jesus came home with his disciples… His mother and his brothers arrived. For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and My mother.”

What a wonderful description of the great homecoming. Those who wanted to be with the Teacher had a lot to learn, and He added an important new dimension.

Jesus explicitly tells us of our relationship with Him. We are brothers and sisters. Can you see the crowd, the circle of eager listeners, the sudden interruption, and then the fundamental teaching? I become a brother or sister of the Lord as I seek to know the will of God and put it into practice. My search, sometimes called discernment, allows me to establish in the words of Pope Francis a relationship with Jesus. As I am brother and sister to Him, I have the same relationship with others.

Congratulations to those recently baptized:Mr. Dominick Francis Brehany

Congratulations to the couple(s) who has recently been married in the parish:

Mr. and Mrs. William and Malana Orsborn

We extend a warm welcome to our new Parishioners:

Second Reading: II Corinthians 5:6-10Paul acknowledges “that we are, in a sense, away from the Lord while in this life and bound to our bodies.” We will be fully united with God in the next life, if we please him in this life.

IMMACULATE CONCEPTIONSCHOOL NEWS

It’s incredible to realize that this is the last weekend before students and staff head off for summer vacation. Looking back, it has been an amazing

year. Our students excelled in so many competitions across all areas – math, writing, penmanship, science, art, music, athletics, and more. Our staff has proven their dedication again through the countless hours of planning and preparation to bring their lessons to life.

We will have our closing school Mass on Tuesday at 9:30. Following Mass, we will have our presentation of awards, students will receive their report cards, and then it will be off for weeks of family, fun, and rest. After two days of professional development, our teachers will head out Thursday for the same. Please keep our students and staff in your prayers that they enjoy a wonderful summer and return to ICS in the fall, ready for another exciting year.

The school is looking for a long-term substitute for the fall, from mid-September to late November. Interested candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and will need to have a background check on file. If you would like more information or would like to be considered, please contact Jeanne Dinkle at the school office (410-398-2636) or via email ([email protected])

If you are interested in learning more about ICS or would like to enroll your child in school, you may call the school office during the summer, and someone will contact you. The office will be open from 8:00 to 3:00 Monday through Friday for the month of June. July and August hours will be posted shortly.
