Transpower Neighbourhood Engineers Award
This is supported by IPENZ (Institute of Professional Engineers) & links engineers with schools to tackle projects that relate
to the technology curriculum. Your school can use the NEA website to
request help in finding an engineer to assist students with a project.
Unisys Kidz Connect

Is designed to support connectivity & innovation amongst primary &
intermediate children. Under the programme, 20 teachers will each receive
a $1,000 cash grant to spend on a programme or project of their choice for
the for the benefit of children in their class. The programme is open to all registered teachers working in New Zealand’s state, integrated & private
primary & intermediate schools (Year 1 – 8), of any decile & location.

Soaps in your name can be sold & your school/centre can get a percentage or amount per item sold.
Honeywraps – food wraps
HOW IT WORKSSchool would buy a box of 25, 50 or 100 Honeywraps at the wholesale price and then sell these to students/families making up to $3.50 (29%) profit per Honeywrap (the bigger the box size the bigger the profit you make).
This is for the medium sized Honeywrap (27 cmx 31cm) the perfect size for wrapping a sandwich.

There are different options for how to sell the honeywraps. Some schools use their eco-warriors to sell honeywraps, other schools have them at their school office. One school secured council grants to give Honeywraps to all new students, a fab idea. Honeywraps are often used as waste free lunch prizes.
* If you would prefer not to sell Honeywraps as a fundraiser this is also a great opportunity to purchase Honeywraps at a discounted price for your students which will help encourage waste-free lunches.

Seedy Schools Fundraiser ProgrammeKings Seeds will sell packets of seeds to your school at a discounted price. You
sell the seeds to the community at the retail price and keep the difference – it equates to a profit of between $1.60 - $2.45 per packet of seeds sold!
Other Fundraising Opportunities
- Spring Bulbs- Recipe Books (families are invited to submit their favourite recipes, or create a recipe book from your own creations)- Calendars & tea towels from the local community or childrens own work- Cards from children artwork- Worm wees (from the school/centre worm farm)- Vegetable & flower seeds (collected from the school/centre garden)- Soap- Sandwich wraps (make your own from fabric & beeswax)- Regular healthy in-school/centre fundraisers: Hamburgers (wholemeal bun, salad (bonus if its from the school/centre garden),
falafel/meat pattie etc)- Baked potato (microwave first, foil & chuck on BBQ with toppings available such as grated cheese, salsa, sour cream, coleslaw
etc.)- In season corn on the cob (bonus if it’s from the school/centre garden)- Freshly popped popcorn
Events as fundraisers
- Bike-a-thon’s & fun runs- Bingo nights & quiz nights- A clothing swap evening - a cheap fun event – Gold Coin entry. The idea is that parents/students bring along no longer wanted
clothes. A room is set up with clothes in sizes. Parents can donate towards the clothes if they choose (which goes to the school/centre). Even better if you make an evening of it with people bringing plates of nibbles to share & drinks.
- Local art/craft market evening- An event that also supports the local community/business. Gold coin donation entry. Stall holders set up inside the
school/centre. Stall holders pay $10 for a stall. Stall holders can also donate an item for part of a raffle prize.
