My family and I had the honor to pay our respects to the men and women who died that fateful Tuesday morning on 9/11/2001. Words cannot express the impact that the two enormous reflecting pools set in the footprints of the original Twin Towers. Each pool is about an acre in size with 30-foot waterfalls cascading down all sides. The names of 2,983 victims of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center site, at the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93, as well as the World Trade Center bombing on Feb. 26, 1993, are inscribed in bronze panels surrounding the pools. Very powerful and humbling. As I think about that horrific day in our nation's history, I can't help but think about what Jesus said in John 15:13: "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." Truer words have never been spoken. Thank you to all the men and women who laid down their lives on that dark day on 9/11/2001. Thank also to all the first responders who answer the call every day!
