TALK to your children about what information to put online and more importantly what NOT to put online
Go online with your child and have them show you the sites they visit most often
Establish your own profile – FRIEND your child Keep the computer in a central location: never
in a bedroom or behind closed doors Use parental controls or blocking software –
view url history Check your child’s accounts and do this often!
Don’t forget about the itouch, smartphone and PSP!
Become an expert on privacy settings Stay on top of news stories and what is happening
on the web Establish guidelines and limits on when your child
can be on the web and use cell phones Explain the consequences Communicate with your children often and be
aware of what’s going on in their lives! Keep their passwords and YOURS private Remember – What you post online is there
