Racing The Storm Bald Eagle

Gicle Canvas Edition.

Size: 11" x 14" 4That of an eagle flying above the storm.Bible talks about eagle to explain significance in the midst of a storm.

5After or in midst of a storm you can either be like that man (depressed, lost, no hope etc) or like the eagle (circled) still can go on its life (catching fish). Discuss the 2 pics. The Wise & the Foolish BuildersMatthew 7:24-28

6Relate to parable of the 2 builders. The Wise & the Foolish Builders "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash." (Mat.7:24-28)7See what Jesus emphasized not just hear but practise the words. Spend some time on these verses. Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

8

The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house;9yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

10

But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a man who built his house on the sand.

The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house,12

Andit fell with a great crash.APPLICATIONBuild our life on teachings of Jesus.Be focus on this. Put into practice the Word.

Above will give you a strong foundation. You are wise.Jesus is the foundation for any good Christian3 Types of PeopleSIMPLE

FOOL

15Whish one is us Christians should be wise wisdom comes from GodWiseSimpleFool

Seeks to pinpoint God's principles.Doesn't know God's principles.Ignores & defies God's principles.Knows where he is headed.Needs direction.Feels he has already arrived.(arrogant, know-all)Learns from his mistakes.(teachable spirit)Makes many mistakes.Never learns from his mistakes(unteachable spirit)Needs encouragement.Needs teaching.(Easily swayed, gullible)Needs repentance.

DONT BE ORPLAY THE FOOL17Some interesting slides I picked up.One is a foolWhen One Says There Is No God You are definitely foolish is you do not believe in God(Psalm 14:1) To fail to acknowledge that God exists constitutes playing the fool(Gen. 1:1; Ps. 19:1; 90:1-2; Acts 17:26-28)When Ones Way Is Right By His Standard We need to pursue God about our ways or we are foolish (Prov. 12:15 ; 28:26) Man, by himself, is not capable of knowing which way is right (Jer. 10:23 ; Is. 55:8-9)One is a foolWhen One Mocks At Sin If we do not take sin seriously we are a fool in the eyes of God (Prov. 14:9) Those who make fun of sin are in need of a reminder of the consequences (Is. 59:1-2 ; Rom. 6:23 ; Jam. 1:14-15)One is a foolOne is a foolWhen One Leaves God Out Of Their Plans If we fail to live for God while we have worldly plans we are a fool (Lk. 12:15-21 ; Jam. 4:13-16)When One Is An Unfaithful Church Member Those who shirk their duties in the faith and are returning to their old ways are fools (Gal. 1:6-7 ; 3:1-9 / 5:7) When we let Satan back into our lives, we are acting foolishly (Eph 4:27 ; 6:11-13)One is a foolOne is a foolWhen One Does Not Prepare To Meet God If we live our entire life without finding salvation, we are fools (Matt. 25:1-13 ; Note verse 10) If we do not hear and heed the gospel message we are foolishly lost for eternity (Matt. 7:21-27) There are many ways that you can be responsible for playing the fool So then, playing the fool is:-When One Says There Is No God -When Ones Way Is Right By His Standard -When One Mocks At Sin -When One Leaves God Out Of Their Plans -When One Is An Unfaithful Church Member -When One Does Not Prepare To Meet God Jesus is the foundation for any good ChristianHow Can We Overcome?Follow Jesus Example - The Word. Watch & Pray (Matthew 26:41). Trust in Him - Guidance & Mercy.Submit to His Will - Way & Blessings (James 1:17,18).

27Slide four depicts one exerting the necessary energy and focus to reach bedrock. Show how the teaching that man does not seriously participate in his salvation is false in the extreme (cp. Luke 13: 24). Point out how Jesus is said to be the Rock. Mention the context regarding I Corinthians 3: 11 (vs. 1-10). THE ENDGOD BLESS
