Ambiguous images. People can view the same image differently. Therefore, people have different views on the same subject. Questions: 1) Who is the best basketball player? 2) Who is the best actor? 3) What type of music is the best? 4) Are we allowed to have different views? Everyone has a worldview, or a distinctive way of seeing and understanding the world. A Worldview is the framework of ideas and beliefs through which an individual, group or culture interprets the world and interacts with it. What shapes our worldview? h?v=dtvG9XDtjv4 Culture is a reason that can affect someones worldview. Every culture has their own ways of doing things (food, clothing, music, etc). People from a different culture may perceive someone else as being weird. (Stereotyping). Generally, we have to avoid these circumstances. Question: Did people who lived in the Middle Ages have the same values and beliefs as we do today? Therefore, time is a huge factor that influences how we perceive our world. Where you live influences your worldview. Communist versus Democracy? How our political system influences our views. Place also includes a more local view. Poverty versus Wealth? It is the most important factor that determines our worldviews. Media includes; television, radio, internet, magazines, billboards, etc) We are constantly affected by media and its message. Especially teenagers. We will go more in depth in our Pop Culture Magazine Project. Take 15 minutes to think about your own worldview. How do you see the world from your eyes. Is it fair? Is it tough? Topics to help you decide: 1) Religion 2) How you were raised 3) Experiences 4) Medias message/Peers What is the meaning of the poem? How does it relate to worldviews? What if the blind men discussed instead of arguing?
