Ahoy me hearties! Welcome to the Belfast Titanic Maritime Festival 2016. What a weekend we have in store for landlubbers and seafarers of all ages! You can expect plenty of exciting and free family entertainment along the quayside over the three days of the festival, as well as the opportunity to learn more about the city’s rich maritime heritage.

Must-see street theatre performances

Maritime MarketsAll that sea air is sure to generate a healthy appetite! While you’re enjoying the sights, shows and live music, sample the delightful tastes and traditions of local and European providers at the market on Queen’s Quay.The Spring Continental Market will be at Belfast City Hall from 27 – 30 May with an array of delicious food from across the globe or why not pay a visit to St Georges Market, open Saturday 9am-3pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.

Magnificent shipsClimb a’board some magnificent visiting ships, including long time friend of Belfast, the Morgenster which will host trainees from Belfast on her sail out of the city.

Joining Morgenster will be the Phoenix, which has featured in countless film and television productions, and Kaskelot, widely acknowledged as one of the finest wooden hulled tall ships sailing our oceans today.

The Earl of Pembroke will also be gracing our shores. Another star of the screen, in 2012 the vessel received one of the most romantic additions any sailing ship can have – scarlet sails!

Free family activitiesWe have lots of activities for kids of all ages! There’s a variety of interactive maritime themed arts and crafts workshops, a climbing wall, outdoor fun and games and face painting to name but a few. Or why not sit back, relax and listen to some of the fantastic live music we’ve got lined up for you?

Q Radio roadshow12noon - 5pm daily Queen’s QuayJoin Q Radio presenter Gareth Stewart and the Q Street Team in their marquee throughout the weekend for great live music, competitions, loads of giveaways and fun for all the family! Tune in as Q Radio broadcast live from the Q Bus at Queen’s Quay daily.

Enjoy the ‘crazy carry-ons’ of sea life with laugh out loud street theatre a plenty!

Join us for our BIG Pop-Up Picnic next to Titanic Belfast and SS Nomadic. Kick back, relax and be entertained by live music, dance flash performances, Titanic mascots, games for kids and the kids at heart, whilst enjoying your picnic or picking up lunch from our range of stalls. Take a walking or photography tour where you’ll descend 44ft into the bottom of Titanic’s Dock; explore the galleries at Titanic Belfast or enjoy period music on-board Titanic’s little sister, SS Nomadic. You’ll also get the chance to step back in time with 70 DeLorean cars travelling onto the Titanic Slipways for their grandstand finish on Saturday 28 May from 3pm-5pm.Don’t forget to book in advance for the Taster Tours or Titanic Belfast experience, as we’re expecting lots of shipmates in Titanic Quarter over the Bank Holiday weekend!www.facebook.com/tqeventsbelfast

The BIG Titanic Pop-Up Picnic

Join the HMS Caroline team to explore the history of the ship and the crew’s life 100 years ago. Explore a selection of handling objects and replica costumes that tell the story of life at sea, and take part in activities and demonstrations.

Army Reserve units from across Northern Ireland and the Irish Guards will be displaying their signature kit and equipment, whilst providing an insight into what life is like in the Regular Army and Army Reserve. You’ll have a chance to chat to Navy, RAF and Army career advisors about full time and part time opportunities.

Boat tours with the Lagan Boat Company

Why not have a go on the water in an open canoe or bellboat? All equipment is provided for these fully supervised sessions and no previous experience is necessary. You must be 8 years of age or over to participate.

IFA Soccer Village12noon-5pm, daily Queen’s QuayJust ahead of the Euros, why not visit the IFA’s soccer village to participate in an array of fun challenges and activities for all ages. Who will be the Cage Football Champion or the Speed Shooter Sensation? Come along for a fun filled three days with lots of free giveaways and prizes on offer.

The UK’s premier formation aerobatic team, The Yakovlevs have entertained millions around the world with their precision formation flying and exciting displays. Look to the skies above Belfast and watch a truly memorable show.
